Granite is functional and durable, making it ideal for kitchen countertops, islands, bar tops, vanity tops, and high-use surfaces. Marble is the most elegant and luxurious of stones, yet versatile enough to use throughout the home for fireplaces, bathroom vanities, shower surrounds and/or seats, tub decks, and flooring. Marble has more limitations because it is sensitive to acidic foods such as tomatoes, lemon, vinegar, and some cleaning products. Quartz is a durable composite material that is easier to maintain and generally costs less than both granite and marble. As you select materials for your custom stone project, we are always there to consult and advise.

All tops installed by Exotic Era Stone and other reputable fabricators are sealed to limit the penetration of liquids or other materials. To ensure years of durability and maintain the beauty of your granite, marble, or other natural stones, just remember the following tips:

  • Dust surfaces frequently
  • Blot up spills immediately
  • Clean your stone surface with a few drops of neutral cleaner, stone soap, or mild dishwashing liquid and warm water
  • Use a soft, clean rag to clean natural stone
  • Be sure to rinse after washing with the soap solution and dry with a soft, clean cloth
  • Take care to not use too much soap, as this may leave a film and cause streaks
  • Refrain from using products that contain lemon, vinegar or other acids to prevent scratches on the natural stone
  • Avoid using scouring powders or creams which may scratch the surface of natural stone due to their harsh abrasives.

To minimize soap scum on natural stone in bathrooms, a squeegee should be used after use of natural stone bathroom surfaces. Remember, if you choose to use a soap-scum remover, it should be non-acidic.

Typically, these are the steps in a project from start to finish:

  1. We receive your plans
  2. You select the material you would like
  3. The type of countertop edge is selected
  4. You select the fixtures that will go in/on your countertop (sinks, faucets, etc.)
  5. We provide an estimate based on the specifications of your project
  6. We come to your home and take exact measurements and construct templates
  7. Production of your countertop or other feature begins
  8. Installation is scheduled and then completed.

It is important to remember that we will work with you every step of the way and let you know what you can expect. We believe that communication is key in every project we do.

Quality is important in every job. Here are some ways to know if you are working with a quality stone fabricator:

  • They measure at the job site to ensure a perfect fit.
  • They match material and order extra in case of damage during transportation and the installation process.
  • They have the specialized machinery required for your custom fabrication needs.
  • They are helpful, willing to work with you, and forthright and honest in communications.

Exotic Era Stone is committed to providing quality custom stone installations that you will enjoy for years to come. We use high-quality equipment processes, including bridge saw cutting machines, CNC routers, and a laser templating process.

Typically, results are better for homebuilders, homeowners, architects, and designers who work with a countertop fabricator that has experience and a proven reputation for quality, rather than seeking out a low-cost provider making unrealistic promises. When you are selecting a provider for something as important as your own or your client’s home, you need to make sure that you:

  1. Check the fabricators’ references.
  2. Have the fabricator provide a certificate of insurance for liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
  3. Visit the fabricators facility and view their showroom and/or stockyard.
  4. Have the fabricator provide examples of the work they have done in the past.
